The Town: a movie to watch

I just watched the movie "The Town" by Ben Affleck and i am recommending it to everyone who loves action, drama and romance. There a little bit of everything in this movie. It's a little bit long but worth it. The DVD was released last year so you can grab it anytime from your video stores. it has been in my list although it was at the bottom of ly long list but after i read a good review about it by one of my friends, I quicly moved it to the top of the list so I got it in the mail the very next day. How I get the kids ready to return to school.

Winter break for my kids is a time when I try to let them have a mini vacation at home. Getting them ready to head back to school can be a chore but I have mastered this over the years. The first thing to do is to wean them off the sugar. I do this by gradually decreasing the times during the day when they can have candy, cookies, etc. Mealtimes become centered on healthy food and beverages.

During the last week of their winter break I begin to incorporate their old routine back into their lives. Bedtimes become stricter, less electronic time and more reading and academics. This I accomplish by bribing my 12 year old to read to his two younger siblings. Gradually, old habits are again picked up and life returns to a more normal pace. My goal is to reward positive behavior by setting firm ground rules and reminders that school is fast approaching.

In Love and War ....

Hubby and I watched the movie "In Love and War", starring Sandra Bullock and Chris O'Donnell.  This was based on a true story of the great writer Ernest Hemingway who was an ambulace driver during World War I in Italy.  There, he met Sandra Bullock who played as a volunteer nurse, they fell in love despite the age gap.  Hemingway was 7 years her junior.  They did not end up with each other.  It has a sad ending.... I did not even know that this great writer used to be a soldier and he ended his life in 1961.  If you love romance, check this movie out.  It is full of drama.  Sandra Bullock is my most favorite actress.
